Meet Lindsey Johnson

Lindsey Johnson, founder of Gather Forward, an experienced community engagement and graphic facilitation consultant based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Lindsey Johnson (she/her), is an award-winning community engagement and communications professional with experience in government, non-profit, and private organizations. She founded Gather Forward to help organizations facilitate meaningful dialogue, engage communities, and navigate complex discussions using visuals.

  • Before founding Gather Forward, Lindsey worked at EPCOR Utilities, where she led public engagement and communications initiatives across power, water, and natural gas business areas.

    Prior to that, she worked with Leger, a marketing research consulting firm, where she helped clients understand community perspectives and apply insights to decision-making.

  • Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with distinction from the University of Alberta and is a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholar.

    She is a member of IAP2 Canada and previously served as the Vice President of the Wild Rose Chapter.

  • As a proud Indigenous woman of Native American and mixed European ancestry, Lindsey is deeply committed to reconciliation and inclusive engagement.

    She has worked on Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) initiatives through the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) and continues to support organizations in creating equitable and participatory engagement strategies.

    In 2021, she founded SPIRIT (Supporting People in Reconciliation of Indigenous Truths), an initiative dedicated to uplifting Indigenous culture and voices in the workplace.

Our Story

Gather Forward was founded to bridge the gap between complex conversations and clear, actionable outcomes. We saw a need for engagement and facilitation approaches that are structured, visual, and participatory—where diverse perspectives are truly heard and reflected.

Our name, Gather Forward, represents bringing people together to move forward with clarity. Whether it's facilitating a community engagement process or visually mapping out a strategy session, we help organizations move from discussion to decision-making with confidence.
